Marriott International
launching the $1.5b global headquarters for the world's largest hotel brand
solution
To build excitement and awareness around the new Marriott International HQ, we worked alongside the Buzz Agency and Marriott's Corporate Communications team to develop a comprehensive and multifaceted PR strategy. The program highlighted key themes such as corporate innovation, employee wellness, and the headquarters’ cutting-edge design. Tailored storylines and pitch angles emphasized Marriott's global leadership and innovative corporate environment, positioning the HQ as a model for the future of work.
We organized hard-hat tours and thought leadership interviews, and produced pre-opening exclusives and story development to generate early buzz. The launch included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, press tours, a high-profile opening event, and ongoing media coverage through niche angle pitches. The strategy also incorporated award nominations and post-launch tours to maintain momentum. By showcasing the HQ's focus on innovation, sustainability, and employee benefits, we effectively positioned Marriott as a forward-thinking employer of choice, attracting attention from both the hospitality industry and the business world.

Marriott International Headquarters officially opened its doors on September 19, 2022 with more than twice as many employees in attendance as anticipated, ready to work at their new offices on Day 1. Additionally, every local news media affiliate was in attendance, as were AP, Reuters, and The Washington Post. We also secured and coordinated a live broadcast on CNBC with Marriott CEO Tony Capuano.
Prior to opening, our various preview events, hard-hat tours and exclusive media site visits garnered feature-stories in Fast Company, Forbes, Fortune, Travel Weekly, Axios, CNBC, CNN, AP, The Washington Post, and a multi-media profile in Wall Street Journal. In all, Marriott’ HQ earned the company more than 1.5 billion media impressions within the first five months of its opening.
Since opening, Marriott has been able to attract 5,000 new and current team members to work at its new headquarters and enjoy its hybrid work model.
